Please note:

• You will only be able to request physical items - Books, Book on CD, CDs, DVDs
• Electronic resources and/or databases are not available in MeLCat
• You will not be able to request items on the shelf at KCAD Library

To place requests:

• Make sure the item shows as AVAILABLE
• Select Kendall College of Art & Design Library from the drop down list
• Enter your First and Last Name & your MyFSU shortname​

Using your MyMeLCat account you can:

• Check the status of requests
• Cancel requests
• Renew items - Overdue items cannot be renewed. Please talk with a librarian for assistance.

To login to your MyMeLCat account:

• Go to the MyMeLCat page
• Select Kendall College of Art & Design
• Enter your name and MyFSU shortname

Do a search in SmartSearch 

• On the left side of the result page select External Search
• Click on the MeLCat icon
• Your search will move over to MeLCat

Or search for items directly in MeLCat

• Click on the item record 
• Confirm the item is available
• Click the Get this from MeLCat button 

A new window will open:

• Select Kendall College of Art & Design Library from the drop down list
• Enter your First and Last Name & your MyFSU shortname

Please note:

• You will only be able to request physical items - Books, Book on CD, CDs, DVDs

• You will not be able to request items on the shelf at KCAD Library

Requested Items

• Items requested through MeLCat will take 3 - 5 business days to arrive at the KCAD Library.
• When your items arrive, a notice will be sent to your Ferris email address,
• You will have 10 business days to pick your items. After 10 days items must be sent back.

Renewals 

• You must renew your materials the week before they are due.
• Items get (1) renewal. Items overdue more than 7 days CANNOT be renewed. They must be returned and re-requested if still needed.

If you have a public library account and your library participates you can request books, books on CD, DVDs and music CDs. Check to see if your public library participates in MeLCat.
