Asking a Clinical Question

Recall from the Evidence-Based Practice Cycle that the 2nd step, after learning of your patient's health needs, is to create a clinical question. There is a standardized format for asking a clinical question called PICO.

The PICO Question

What does PICO stand for: P = Patient, Population, or Problem; I = Intervention; C = Comparison; O = Outcome
