JSTOR - Stable URLs

How to create stable URLs to articles in JSTOR:

1.  Perform a search and select your article.

2.  The stable URL will be in the identifying information at the top of your article.

3.  Please add the following URL so that it precedes the article link:

https://ferris.idm.oclc.org/login?url= 

4.   Copy and paste the URL into your syllabus, email, or Blackboard course page, along with the complete citation information to meet copyright requirements.

5.  Example:

https://ferris.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://www.jstor.org/stable/2716657

EBSCO – Permalink

How to create persistent links to articles in EBSCO:

1. Perform a search and click the article title.

2. Find the Permalink (in most EBSCO databases it is located on the right hand side of the screen.  Scroll down the list of tools).

3.  Please add the following URL so that it precedes the article link: 

https://ferris.idm.oclc.org/login?url= 

4.   Copy and paste the URL into your syllabus, email, or Blackboard course page, along with the complete citation information to meet copyright requirements.

5.  Example:

Gale – Bookmark

How to create bookmarks (persistent links) to articles in Gale:

1. Perform a search and click the article title.

2. Select “Bookmark this Document” and copy and paste the bookmark URL or scroll down to the bottom of the article and copy the Document URL

3.  Please add the following URL so that it precedes the article link: 

https://ferris.idm.oclc.org/login?url= 

4.   Copy and paste the URL into your syllabus, email, or Blackboard course page, along with the complete citation information to meet copyright requirements.

How to create persistent links to articles in ProQuest:

1. Perform a search and click the article title.

2. Click on Abstract/Details to get to full record.

3.  Scroll down page to permanent Document URL.

4.  Please add the following URL so that it precedes the article link: 

https://ferris.idm.oclc.org/login?url= 

4.   Copy and paste the URL into your syllabus, email, or Blackboard course page, along with the complete citation information to meet copyright requirements.  Remind students to click on full text tab.

OVID – Jumpstart URL

How to create jumpstart URLs (persistent links) to articles in OVID:

1. Perform a search for full text articles and click the article title.  On the right hand side of the screen you will find an “Email Jumpstart” button. Click and then copy the jumpstart URL.

2.  Please add the following URL so that it precedes the article link: 

https://ferris.idm.oclc.org/login?url= 

4.   Copy and paste the URL into your syllabus, email, or Blackboard course page, along with the complete citation information to meet copyright requirements.  Remind students to click on full text tab.

How to create persistent links to articles in PubMed, Springer Link, Blackwell, Sage, and Wiley:

1. Perform a search and click the article title.

2. The URL in the search bar will work as the persistent link.

3.  Please add the following URL so that it precedes the article link:

4.   Copy and paste the URL into your syllabus, email, or Blackboard course page, along with the complete citation information to meet copyright requirements.
