What is a Reserve?

Reserves are course materials which FSU Instructors place on hold in the library for their students to use.

  • FSU Faculty/Staff

How do I find out what is on Reserve for a course?

To see what items are on reserve for a course, you must log in to the library’s catalog (Primo/SmartSearch) using your FSU username and password.

Sign in to primo

Then search for a course code (Ex. ENGL 150) or instructor name under “Course Reserves”. Use the filters on the left of the page to refine your search.

How do I check out a Reserve?

Reserve material is kept at the 1st floor Circulation Desk and is grouped by course code (Ex. ENGL 250) and instructor's last name. Please provide this information along with the reserve title you are requesting to use.

A valid Ferris Bulldog ID is required to check out reserve material. Students may check out up to two reserve items at one time.

How long can I keep a Reserve?

Loan periods for print and media reserve are two hours, four hours, and one day as determined by course instructors.
