Expectations for Selected Projects

Guidelines/Expectations for Participants

All

  • Completion of survey/reflection document
  • Distribution of a student survey
  • Information necessary for assessment
  • Release for the OER group to share/publicization your participation
  • Open resource is easily accessible by students (easy to find)

Create participants

  • Publication of the deliverable with a Creative Commons license
  • Deliverable will be uploaded to an open repository
  • Acknowledgement of the support received by the funding party
  • Deliverable will be proofread or copyedited
  • Deliverable meets accessibility standards
  • Deliverable is available within agreed upon timeframe

Recipient Expectations

Below is a list of expectations for award recipients. Please read carefully before applying. 

  • Throughout the process, update the program administrators about your progress either through periodic check-ins (virtual, email, or one-on-one) or engage with the OER Community of Practice that will meet several times a year.
  • Write a final grant report that includes a narrative summarizing the challenges and accomplishments of your experience creating/finding/using the materials, the impact on your teaching, the impact on students and their performance, and lessons learned. 
  • Agree to share the results of your project with other faculty in your Department and the campus via meetings, workshops, or promotional materials. 
  • Circulate a qualitative and quantitative survey to all of your students at the end of the first semester you utilize the materials. 
  • Provide a copy of the revised syllabus or course outline used for the class. 
  • Participate in long-range assessments of the Open Education Initiative.
  • On materials developed for a UNM course, apply an appropriate Creative Commons license of the grantee’s choice.
  • Agree to potentially participate on the review committee for future applications.

  • Follow college and SUNY guidelines and definitions of OER
  • Meet with OER program lead to ensure course is in compliance with SUNY guidelines and definitions
  • Have department chair approval
  • Have course listed as OER in Banner
  • Continue to use OER for three years

Expectations for FLITE and FCTL (word better)

Guidelines/Expectations for FLITE & FCTL

  • FLITE and FCTL will provide application information sessions.
  • FLITE and FCTL will provide a student survey for distribution.
  • FLITE and FCTL will assist with helping locate existing OER materials.
  • FLITE and FCTL will provide information on Creative Commons licensing and copyright.
  • FLITE and FCTL will assist with publication of deliverable on a preferred platform.
  • FLITE and FCTL will assist with distribution of deliverable into open repositories.
  • FLITE and FCTL will assist with knowledge of accessibility standards.
  • FLITE and FCTL will assist with helping find proofreaders, copyeditors, or illustrators.
  • FLITE and FCTL will NOT assist with proofreading, copy editing, illustrations, finding open images
