 yellow square

Formula: Known job qualifications + desired knowledge & skills = less time with positions unfilled

Process

  • Working with faculty and staff and the library strategic plan, Dean and Assistant Deans maintain a “wish list” of functional needs that could inform rewriting positions before vacancies occur
  • Upon notice of an impending vacancy, Dean and Assistant Deans work with faculty and staff to update position description, including “wish list” functions where possible
  • Prior to vacancy occurring, Dean and Assistant Deans initiate search process as appropriate (e.g. via the faculty search procedures, and in compliance with CBAs)
  • Fill each vacancy within XX days of it occurring
  • Searches underway for two vacant faculty positions (summer 2016)
  • We will resume discussion of the vacant CT position in July 2016.
