Working with faculty and staff and the library strategic plan, Dean and Assistant Deans maintain a “wish list” of functional needs that could inform rewriting positions before vacancies occur
Upon notice of an impending vacancy, Dean and Assistant Deans work with faculty and staff to update position description, including “wish list” functions where possible
Prior to vacancy occurring, Dean and Assistant Deans initiate search process as appropriate (e.g. via the faculty search procedures, and in compliance with CBAs)
Fill each vacancy within XX days of it occurring
Searches underway for two vacant faculty positions (summer 2016)
We will resume discussion of the vacant CT position in July 2016.
Library employees know and can articulate position priorities and how library work is evolving so we may fill positions efficiently when vacancies occur.
