Overview

Established in August 1995 as an independent non-profit organization, JSTOR (or Journal Storage) intends, as its chief goal, to “build a reliable and comprehensive archive of important scholarly journal literature.” JSTOR contains the complete text (in scanned-in full image) of selected core journals in several academic disciplines within the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Full-text coverage begins with each journal’s first issue and continues to the ‘moving wall’ period of 1-5 years from the most recently published issues.
