KCAD Library - COVID-19 Update

Updated information on library access and modified services

Library Reserves

Due to the required quarantine period for library materials, physical in-library reserves are suspended.

Faculty are encouraged to provide access to materials through Canvas (e.g. Permalinks to datatbase items, eBooks, scanned materials, etc.).The library will help where it can in acquiring resources and making materials electronically accessible, while observing copyright guidelines. Please contact Elise Bohn or Ben Boss for assistance.

Library Instruction

In-person, in classroom instruction is not being offered at this time.

Virtual library instruction will be available, via Zoom, Teams or Canvas - Library staff will work with faculty to identify their needs and the most effective outlet to provide instruction. Please contact Elise Bohn or Ben Boss to set up a session.

  • Due to the limitations in space for proper social distancing, there will be no in-library instruction service nor can classes occur in the library.
  • In-person reference and research assistance is at the discretion of the librarians.
  • Faculty are encouraged to instruct students to set up virtual appointments for research assistance.

Please see the sections on the left for information regarding placing holds, grab 'n go service and requesting research assistance.

Canvas

The library is new to Canvas. We are currently working on creating pages and modules to embed library presence in Canvas courses.

We can work with you on adding resources, participating on discussion boards, conferences and sitting in on office hours. The possibilites are numerous for making a connection between the library and the students through Canvas.

Please contact Elise Bohn to see what the library can do for you in Canvas.
