COVID-19 Information

Welcome

In conjunction with the University's response  to protect the Ferris community from the spread of COVID-19, the FLITE Library will take the following steps:

  • The FLITE Library is closed to all faculty, staff, and students with the exception of E-Learning staff who will continue to assist faculty in the creation of online delivery methods.  We expect that they will be done in FLITE by the end of the week.
  • The University Archives is closed to all visitors
  • FLITE Librarians will be available to assist with any reference needs you may have.  

FLITE staff will update this document as needed as the current situation 

Library Help & ILL

Staff will be available to answer your questions during the following hours via chat, text, and email.  Please note that we are unable to answer questions over the phone.

Interlibrary Loan

  • Due to the current situation involving COVID-19, many libraries are suspending loans of physical material through interlibrary loan. We will not be able to process requests for loans of physical material until further notice. 
  • Please continue to place requests for articles.

 

Returning items

We ask at this time that you keep all library material including any MelCat items and NOT return it to the library at this time.  FLITE will waive all fines and fees associated for any late returns of material.  We are looking into ways for you to return the books to us at a later time at no cost to you.

Temporary-Use Laptops

The IT Solution Center has temporary laptops available for use. Please submit a work order via the Self-Service Portal or call the IT Solution Center at (231) 591-4822, and include any special software requirements you may have.
