Off Campus Access

As a KCAD student you have 24/7 access to many online resources including: Encore, Article Databases & MELCAT

When you attempt to use any of these resources from off campus you will be asked to login.

  • To use ENCORE & the Article Databases login with your MYFSU & Password

  • To use MELCAT login with your NAME, BARCODE & PIN

If you have any problems attempting to login, please contact the library during daytime hours.

Library Circulation Policies for KCAD Students

You must present your Kendall/Ferris ID Card to check out all Library materials

Books - Books circulate for 3 WEEKS

Books may be renewed one time for an additional 3 weeks, provided that another patron has not requested it.

You may renew books online via your Library Account.

You may renew books at the Library circulation desk. You do not need to have the items with you.

If your books are OVERDUE, you must call or come into the Library to renew

GRADUATE STUDENTS have the same circulation policies as undergraduate students.

If you are a Graduate Student and a KCAD Adjunct Faculty member, your classification with the Library is GRADUATE STUDENT.
You will be fined and billed for overdue and unreturned materials.

MEDIA - CDs, CD-Roms, DVDs, and Videocassettes circulate for (7) days and MAY NOT BE RENEWED.


MELCAT Circulation Policies

Only CURRENT KCAD Students, KCAD Faculty and Staff, and KCAD Adjunct Faculty may request MELCAT materials.

MELCAT materials are picked up and must be returned to the Kendall College Library.

MELCAT materials are checked out for (3) three weeks (unless otherwise indicated).

MELCAT materials may be renewed for one time for a (3) week period, unless a hold has been placed on the material.

MELCAT materials DO NOT have a grace period. Overdue MeLCat materials CAN NOT be renewed.

To use MELCAT login with your NAME, BARCODE & PIN

Your 14 DIGIT BARCODE NUMBER is located on the back of your ID Card. EXAMPLE : 22123456789100 - Do not enter the A's

Your PIN is your 6 DIGIT BIRTHDATE. EXAMPLE: Birthday is Jan 3, 1975 ENTER: 010375


Overdue MELCAT materials accrue a fine of $1.00 per item, per day. Fines will accrue up to $30.00 maximum (30 days overdue).
On day 31, the patron will be billed for the following:

$30.00 maxiumum overdue fine (NON-REFUNDABLE) + $100.00 item replacement cost
